Welcome to the online registration platform for the World Conference of Science Journalists 2019 taking place in Lausanne from 1-5 July 2019.
The conference will be held at the SwissTech Convention Center (STCC) from the 1-4 July followed by a series of field trips on 5 July.

*Note: special conditions apply to journalists participating in the ABSW Summer School in London on 8 July 2019. By presenting proof of attendance at the ABSW Summer Shcool, they will be able to claim a refund of CHF 100.- AFTER the conference. Delegate, member of WFSJ: This category includes active journalists, freelance or staff, working mainly for an independent media, and who are member of a national/specific association of journalists which itself is a member of the World Federation of Science Journalists. It also includes all members of a national/specific association of journalists which itself is a member of the World Federation of Science Journalists. Note: affiliation to this association will be checked.
Delegate active journalist, non-member of WFSJ: This category includes active journalists, freelance or staff, working mainly for an independent media, and who are NOT member of a national/specific association of journalists which itself is a member of the World Federation of Science Journalists.
Delegate - student: This category includes all persons studying journalism in a recognized journalism school/institution able to prove their current student status.
Delegate - non journalist, non-member of WFSJ: This category includes all persons interested in taking part in the WCSJ2019 who don't belong to one of the three former categories (for example: Press information officers, communcation officers, science writers working for non-independant media, academics, scholars, any interested persons, etc..)
Registration and activity fees must be paid by credit card at the time of registration. If you don't have a credit card, please contact Mr Olivier Mouraux at email@example.com to obtain the bank details in order to pay the fees by invoice.
The basic registration fee includes most events from Monday 1 to Thursday 4 July 2019. Field Trips require an additional fee. See the Program listing for specific field trip costs.
Journalists and students
If you register as a Journalist or a Student, you will be asked to upload your press card or student card.
Kindly note that accompanying persons may not attend the scientific program but are eligible to register for social activities.
Once your registration has been confirmed, you will have the opportunity to book a hotel room via this platform. A credit card is required to guarantee your reservation. If you wish to use a credit card other than the one used for your registration, please contact Mr Olivier Mouraux at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Visa - invitation letter
If you need an invitation letter for your visa application procedure, please contact Mr Olivier Mouraux at email@example.com. You will receive the invitation letter after registration and payment have been completed.
Please submit your visa application early as it can take between six and eight weeks to process, or exceptionally even longer, depending on the time of the year.
If you wish to come back to your registration in order to update it, please use your direct login link which can be found in your confirmation email.
To cancel your registration, please send a written note to firstname.lastname@example.org
All refund payments will be made AFTER the conference.
If your visa has been denied, or you were refused entry after obtaining a visa, and you would like to be considered for a registration refund, please make sure you have either an official denial document from a Swiss consulate or a stamped copy of your application form, showing the date when you applied and the date your visa application was denied. The refund request must be received in writing to email@example.com no later than 20 June 2019. No refunds will be made for refund applications received after that date. Not all requests for a refund may be approved.
