How to get to Lausanne 

Lausanne, Switzerland's fifth largest city is located in the heart of western Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva. It is the capital of the canton of Vaud and, having been the seat of the International Olympic Committee since 1915, it has been designated Olympic Capital in 1994. It also is the headquarter of more than fifty international sport federations.

If you are staying in a hotel, you will receive a free transportation card (Lausanne Transport Card). The Lausanne Transport Card gives any guest staying in Lausanne and paying the overnight “taxe de séjour” free and unrestricted access to all public transport services in the city (bus, train, metro). It is valid for the duration of the reservation, including the arrival and departure days (maximum 15 days). Furthermore, upon presentation of your Lausanne Transport Card, some partners offer up to 50 % discount! 

 

 

 

 


The venue of the 9th International Granulation Workshop 2019 on the first two days (26th and 27th June) is Lausanne Palace: Rue du Grand-Chêne 7-9, 1003 Lausanne. How to get to Lausanne by public transportation ?

From Geneva International Airport to Lausanne 

Lausanne is easily reached by direct train (approx. 45 min, 4x per hour) from Geneva International Airport.

  • 4 direct trains per hour (approx. 45 min.), please refer to the trains schedule mentioned below.

From Zurich International Airport to Lausanne 

  • 2 direct trains per hour (approx. 2.30 hours), please refer to the trains schedule mentioned below. Please note that it is much shorter to arrive from Geneva Airport to get to Lausanne.

How to get to Lausanne by car ?

From Geneva International Airport to Lausanne (city center) 

  • Take the "Route Douanière"
  • In the roundabout, take the first exit D 1005
  • Keep on driving on the "Route de Ferney"
  • ​In the roundabout, take the second exit
  • Keep on driving on the highway A1, take the exit "Lausanne Sud" and then 
  • In the roundabout, take the third exit on the "Avenue de Montoie"
  • Keep on driving on the "Avenue de Tivoli"
